The exhibition is stored with art objects from four countries — China, both Koreas and Japan, more than 300 items dating back to the 11th — 21st centuries. Most of the exhibition is devoted to the art of Russia’s closest neighbor, China. These are items made of metal, bronze, papier-mâché, faience and porcelain, carving on stone, wood, ivory, items with cloisonné enamel, Chinese landscape scrolls “hokuga”, calligraphy, tapestries.
The exposition presents the original art of Korean masters: ceramics, painting, traditional decorative panels, silk embroidery, metal products.
The art of Japanese masters is presented with porcelain, wood and bamboo items, stone carving, scrolls and the pride of the museum collection — the armor of a Japanese samurai of the 18th century.
