The Museum of the Family of Emperor Nicholas II opened in Tobolsk in 2018. It became a joint project of the Tyumen Museum and Educational Society and the Foundation for Assistance to the Revival of Mercy and Charity Traditions Elisabeth Sergius Educational Society.
The museum exposition is located in the building of the Governor’s House, where the Romanovs spent 8 months in exile. The collection occupies 13 halls and is arranged in such a manner that its items correspond to the historical purpose of these rooms.
In 2018, the Museum of the Family of Emperor Nicholas II became the centre of the excursion programme of the Federal project Imperial Route in the Tyumen Oblast.
